Flying into Kota Kinabalu, I caught sight of Mount Kinabalu from above — rising tall, calm, and unshaken. A reminder that greatness doesn’t always shout; sometimes, it simply stands still and inspires. One day, I’ll return to climb it — not just for the summit, but for the hidden story it tells.

And yes I was in KK for Kenny G! His saxophone melodies graced every corner of the hall elegantly. And in between those moments, his tireless engagement in Bahasa Melayu connected with the local audience who shown much appreciation in return. An international name performing at the Sabah International Convention Centre demonstrated KK's ability to effortlessly blend and balance - openness to the world and proud of its roots.

Probably more meaningfully, in times of geo-fragmentation, Kenny G & Sabah showed that bringing people and cultures together still do offer stolen glimpses of what a better world that humans can build together. 🌏

Generate excitement

Walking through the night market, I saw more than just food, lights, and souvenirs. I saw energy. Hustle. The quiet heartbeat of a local economy driven by ambition and tradition - most adequately summed up by a classic "I ❤️ KK" shirt.

Sometimes, the most important journeys aren’t to close a deal or attend a summit — they’re to remind ourselves why we do any of it in the first place.

Sabah reminded me. A stolen moment of Kenny G's The Moment, reminded me.
